Early 1970's MARK LEVINSON ACOUSTIC MASTER TAPE REFERENCE RECORDING Volume Two
Lois Shapiro, piano, plays Ravel and Haydn pieces.
Record visually looks excellent, nice shiny surface, fair number of inaudible sleeve marks, just a couple small scratches on Ravel side causing a few tics for less than a minute. Otherwise record plays with fairly quiet surfaces.
Generic white cover only, no manufacturer cover. Includes inserts of booklet of Mark Allen Concert Grand Piano with photo and description, and a page description of PURE ACOUSTIC MASTER TAPE REFERENCE recording series.
Issued in the 1970's, an early 'audiophile' record. Excellent sounding piano recording.
[I visually grade the record in good light. I play grade the record by spot checking several areas, especially areas that have marks. I listen using Grado SR325 headphone w/Grado headphone amp, on a Well Tempered Turntable & arm, mcz Grado cartridge. These are very revealing headphones allowing me to hear any surface noise, although from a close-in perspective. Your experience may differ depending on your system. I clean the record if needed to determine the general condition. Most will improve with your preferred cleaning method.]
