The PROMOTIONAL, RADIO STATION-, AUDITION OR DEMONSTRATION COPIES AND RELEASES (such as the one we have here) were often distributed among the radio stations before the record was released to the public, sometimes as much as four months ahead. These records are generally considered to be the "first among equals", which is to say the VERY FIRST generation and the VERY FIRST pressings of the particular title; a PROTOTYPE and the earliest known official pressing of the record.

Among the promotional releases, those which come with publicity kits (various packages comprising of photo inserts; letters of introduction from the label; typewritten biographies and/or discographies, corporate memos, decals, badges and alike) are generally recognized as the earliest, and most important specimens of a given title; literally and figuratively, the templates from which all subsequent copies followed. Some publicity kits are commanding astronomic prices on today’s collectors’ market.

(a)            WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The album comes with the original extras (BIO, PRESS RELEASE) included.

(c)             The record is STILL in its original inner, plastic baggy, which has - apparently with success - shielded the record from the harmful impact of elements over many years!

(d)            The record is pressed on a RELATIVELY thick, inflexible vinyl. This is NOT a thin, flimsy ('dynaflex' type), vinyl, but not the thickest, most rigid vinyl, either.

(e)             Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

THE COVER IS NEAR MINT !

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has a tiny "wrinkle" (crease) in one of the corners (VISIBLE ON BACK SIDE ONLY)

-         Back cover has a small WEA sticker /label, which may be possible to remove with a little effort (we did not attempt to)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-         No split seams

-         No ring wear

-         No cut-out (drill) holes.

-         No cut-out corners

-         No saw-marks or indents

-         No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-         No yellowing from aging

-         No writing

-         No stamps

-         No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams

-         No peel-off marks

-         No stains

-         No mold or mildew spots

-         No water damage

-         No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or cuts.

-         No warping

-         No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-         No glue traces or wax residue.

-         No RIAA stamps or stickers.
