MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS - "Heatwave" (2:45) b/w STEVIE WONDER - "Hey Harmonica Man" (2:37)
EMIDISC Acetate - UK c.1964
Extremely rare UK EMIDISC acetate of two classic Tamla Motown tunes. Most likely a publisher's copy, based on where it came from originally. Ancient looking Emidisc labels, paper sleeve.
Condition is honestly not brilliant, but both sides play through ok with no jumps or skips. It's not the loudest cut you'll ever hear and there is a fair amount of surface noise (par for the course with most acetates) but it may be possible to clean this one up and grade it higher. See photos for details.
Although the condition is not super clean, there's no doubting its rarity. I've bought Motown records since the late 70's and have other Motown acetates but I've yet to see another 2-sider featuring these two songs. Definitely rare, and I'm offering it strictly as a collectors item. Serious Tamla Motown / UK Stateside / soul collectors will know how scarce this one is...
