MARTHA VELEZ - 'FIENDS AND ANGELS.' Super rare in MONO!!!
UK original 1st pressing on black/silver LONDON labels.
HA-K 8395. MONO. (1969). First issue matrix and front laminated sleeve.
Sleeve grades EX, Vinyl grades a fabulous EX++!
Very seldom seen with the black/silver MONO labels. The much more common Stereo copies have purple/silver labels. I bought this copy from xxxrecords in 2009. It is a superb example. The vinyl is very close to near mint and CD sound quality!
Fantastic debut album featuring the cream of UK musicians of the time - Eric Clapton, Paul Kossoff and rumored to have Jimi Hendrix on there too! The band also included members of Chicken Shack as well as Free but for me the outstanding tracks are the first ones on each side where the line up is Eric Clapton playing a reversed Firebird through Duster Bennett's Selmer Zodiac amp cranked up to full volume, Duster Bennett, Jack Bruce and Mitch Mitchell (confirmed by one of the group).
UK front laminated sleeve grades full EXCELLENT (EX) condition. It is in great shape!
Intact, fully legible spine text. Clean and solid condition with only slight signs of age and handling wear. Rear of sleeve is very clean with only light signs of age and slight wear.
A couple of the extreme corners on the rear of the sleeve are very sympathetically tipped-in with black - but this is barely noticeable. Not really an issue with such a rarity as this.
The glossy vinyl grades EXCELLENT PLUS (EX++). No visible marks. No skips or jumps.
Truly awesome punchy sound and MONO mix.
In all a great example of this scarce debut rock album. The black and silver LONDON labels are also in fine condition with only a few very feint nominal spindle marks. Note that the mono copies had black/silver labels and the stereo labels were purple/silver. A big rarity!

All my items are securely packaged into two heavy duty cardboard cruciform mailers to avoid damage. UK buyers - ignore the £4.50 cap on postage that eBay suggests on the listing. Royal Mail Special Delivery with full insurance to UK destinations will be £7.50.
I pay for my packaging materials, so I include the price of this with my postage rates. I pack all LP's in two heavy duty cardboard cruciform mailers with loads of brown parcel tape.
