GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : le composizioni di Martin Böttcher sono eseguite dalla Mister Martin's Band. Due interessanti brani jazz ben suonati dal gruppo interamente Tedesco con la mini eccezione del clarinettista Fatty George di nazionalità Austriaca. E' necessario premettere che " Sissy Blues " era stata composta da Böttcher nel 1956 per la colonna sonora di " Die Halbstarken " internazionalmente conosciuto come " Teenage Wolfpack ", un film poliziesco diretto da Georg Tressler. Le due versioni suonate dalla Mr. Martin's Band risultano essere uguali all’ascolto e quindi si può escludere che sia stata registrata nuovamente nel 1960. Atmosfere fumose da locale notturno suggerite dal sax alto mentre gli altri strumenti sono in sottofondo con un andamento sonoro abbastanza lento. " Mister Martins Mop ", anch'esso registrato nel 1956 per il sopracitato film non fu incluso nella colonna sonora di questo film. E' caratterizzato da una buona vivacità ritmica condotta dalla sezione fiati in contrappunto con le poderose note del pianoforte oltre a brevi improvvisazioni del vibrafono e il sostegno del basso. Da sottolineare come curiosità la presenza James Last, nome d’arte di Hans Last, al basso, non ancora all’apice del successo.

Notes : both compositions by Martin Böttcher are performed by Mister Martin's Band. Two interesting jazz tunes well played by the all-German group with the mini exception of Austrian clarinetist Fatty George. It is necessary to premise that " Sissy Blues " was composed by Böttcher in 1956 for the soundtrack of " Die Halbstarken " internationally known as " Teenage Wolfpack ", a crime film directed by Georg Tressler. The two versions by Mister Martins Band seem to be identical at the listening therefore it is to rule out its new recording in 1960. Smoky nightclub atmospheres evoked by alto sax with the other instruments in the background on a rather slow development. " Mister Martins Mop ", also recorded in 1956 for the aforementioned film was not included in the soundtrack of " Die Frau Am Dunklen Fenster ".  It is characterized by an excellent rhythmic liveliness led by the horn section in counterpoint with an impressive piano in addition to short improvisations of vibraphone and the support of bass. To mention out of curiosity the presence of James Last, stage name of Hans Last, on bass, not yet at the peak of success.
