Marty Balin, Nobody But You b/w You Made Me Fall, Challenge 9146. Year of release is 1962. Soulful tenor Marty Balin of Jefferson Airplane actually kicked off his recording career in 1962 with this great two sider. Both sides have a Teen/Brill Street sound to them (Listen to the audio clips!). The record and labels both grade as a soft VG, with strict conservative Goldmine standards applied. The record is made of vinyl and not styrene. There is some whitening or erasing just below right center on both labels that appears on the images only, the purpose of which is to avoid the use of language that might annoy those who are concerned about any remote suggestion of copyright infringement. The actual labels do not have this deletion. This is a record that will appeal to all genres. It could have a Northern Soul or Popcorn sound somewhat, but it is primarily midtempo Teen with regard to both sides. The record was play graded on an audiophile system employing Basis Ovation, Graham Industries, Transfiguration, Sound Applications, and Jeff Rowland electronics.
