Description

****Welcome to our ebay auction, thanks very much for looking and good luck with your bids!

The item up for auction is an ORIGINAL, ULTRA RARE, ISSUED IN JUNE 1955, COLLECTORS and MUSIC LOVERS 10" MARTZY item - the only other copy we've ever seen on ebay sold for well over $600.00 USD.

A recording of the MOZART CONCERTO FOR VIOLIN AND ORCHESTRA NR. 4 D-DUR KV 218 performed by none other than the fabulous JOHANNA MARTZY accompanied by the KAMMERORCHESTER DES BAYERISCHEN RUNDFUNKS conducted by EUGEN JOCHUM.

This is a FIRST PRESSING (TULIP LABEL) pressed in GERMANY on the DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON GESELLSCHAFT (DGG) record label.

A truly wonderful recording, IN NEAR MINT CONDITION - don't miss out - YOU MAY NEVER SEE ANOTHER COPY IN THIS CONDITION AGAIN!

Long out of print and now an incredibly rare title, this auction is for a 10" LP in near mint condition featuring -

MOZART -

  • CONCERTO FOR VIOLIN & ORCHESTRA # 4, D-DUR KV 218

performed by:

JOHANNA MARTZY (violin) with the KAMMERORCHESTER DES BAYERISCHEN RUNDFUNKS conducted by EUGEN JOCHUM

The LP is from the SUPER rare DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON GESELLSCHAFT (DGG - FIRST ISSUE) series of 10" LPs (now LONG out of print and hotly pursued by audiophile and music collectors alike), catalog # 16119 LP - in mono (never came out in stereo).

Condition Details - the JACKET IS NEAR MINT  - it is completely intact, no seam splits. The jacket is a gatefold, and it has a stitched LP pocket (earliest issue). The jacket is just beginning to show some shelf wear with slightly weakening corners and seams.  The colours on the cover are lovely and bold - overall the condition is spectacular for a vintage record that is over 50 years old.

The LP IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION. The vinyl played near mint when spot play graded. The vinyl is lustrous and shiny with barely a hint that it was played - just gorgeous!  Please note: all LPs should be properly cleaned prior to playing.

The vinyl has a YELLOW record label with the famous DGG TULIPS encircling the circumference of the LP, with both RED & BLUE lettering. The LP was clearly issued and pressed in GERMANY in JUNE 1955.

This LP is an audiophile quality pressing (any collector of fine MFSL, half speeds, direct to discs, Japanese/UK pressings etc., can attest to the difference a quality pressing can make to an audio system).

Please check out our other ebay auctions for more great LPs and CDs.

Shipping from Toronto is very reasonable to the USA, about $6.00 for the first LP, $3.00 per LP thereafter (air service).

We also sell by set-sale (fixed price) and by auction, rare classical LPs, jazz, blues as well as MFSL gold/aluminum series CDs, DCC CDs, etc. For a copy of our latest offerings email us directly at -
