This is a great copy of the highly collectable LP by The Marvelettes titled Please Mr. Postman  on the Tamla record label. The record label is numbered

TM 228. 

I normally sell collectable books on eBay and I’m not accustomed to selling records, so I’ll do my best to describe this item accurately.  If you have any questions about the record, please ask.

The vinyl and the label are nearly perfect, very glossy vinyl and no wear on the label. Each side of the record has a very minor surface scratch, so slight that it did not show up in the pictures, however the record plays perfectly, with no skips or pops that I could hear. It appears to have been played very little. 

The cover is in very good condition with no seam splits, no tears, and no noticeable wear to the edges. A very small amount of soiling around the outside edge from handling, but otherwise clean. There is a little bumping on a couple of the corners. Also a very tiny hole in the cover on the top left corner that goes through to the back cover. I assume this was intentionally put there to indicate something, however it does not look like it was made with a hole punch. Please see the photos.

The inner liner is lightly wrinkled and lightly age-toned, but otherwise in great shape. When I purchased the record about 20 years ago, the cover was in an opened cellophane overwrap, which has a round sticker that says “Special 47 cents“ (see photo). I always thought that this was original to the record, but I now notice that there is no hole in this overwrap to correspond with the small hole in the top left corner of the cover. Perhaps the former owner put it on to protect the cover, so I won’t say that it is original to the record. Anyway, it is included. The record is now in a plastic cover protector.

As I mentioned previously, I purchased this about 20 years ago, but I never played the record until now. It’s in great shape, and plays beautifully, and I really like the music. So if you’re interested, you better act quickly, ’cause I may change my mind and decide to keep it!
