MOTOWN COLLECTORS - ORIGINAL PICTURE SLEEVE ISSUES - ALWAYS HARD TO COME BY.
Here's a very nice 1964 original USA first issue "two globe" copy with the elusive picture sleeve of this great Holland - Dozier - Holland penned tune from MARVIN GAYE with "BABY DON'T YOU DO IT" and backed with "WALK ON THE WILD SIDE" on the US TAMLA imprint # T 54101.
Pricing has always been partly determined by the condition of the sleeve rather than the record itself and finding a copy with a decent matching picture sleeve has always been a challenge as many have become soiled and dog-eared over time with heavy creasing, rips, written annotations, price stickers, coffee staining as well as the inevitable deletion drill hole and ring wear. On a scale of 1 through 10 with "ten" being mint, I would rate this sleeve as "4" with light ring wear on both sides and heavy creasing in one corner and with a front page sticker residue and small blemish on the bottom as a result of a price sticker removal as well as top edge damage and staining.
The disc itself plays perfectly throughout with good audible quality and remains in excellent condition with minimal crackle on the run-in and run-out groove and with light surface sleeve rubs not affecting play. The labels are very clean on both sides other than the deletion drill hole and with light ring wear making this a very decent copy of this rare combination for the DJ or collector (see picture scans).
The record has been play graded and is from my personal collection that I'm downsizing so why not check out my other listings for more great sounds.
