If Marvin Gaye’s classic 1971 What’s Going On album was his plea for universal human love and compassion,  Let’s Get it On (released two years later, and every bit the worthy successor of the 1971 Colossus), was much more pointed and specific: it was Marvin’s bid for (um…how shall we say this without offending eBay censors… SEX!!!)  Marvin was a man on a prowl searching for a a nookie (yeah, like he couldn’t get one), and he wanted it RIGHT AWAY, THIS VERY INSTANT, SUBITO!  From the intro groove to the final fade, this album is one big, hot, sweet honey bun of seductive, sexy grooves and slick, elegant, wrapped-in-pearly-satin soul jams that just won’t stop until your, um… tonearm… goes limp. One can legitimately argue that every single sexy Soul jam recorded since the early 1970s can be traced back to this classic peace of Motown wax.  Never mind Viagra ™; skip the Kama Sutra,  all you need to really, REALLY get it on is Let’s Get it On. Play this album responsibly folks: many a baby has been delivered by a stork nine months after only a single spin on the turntable!!!

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL  AS  (WEAK) NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs -  are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible,  and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The record is pressed on a RELATIVELY  thick, inflexible vinyl. This is NOT a thin, flimsy ('dynaflex' type),  vinyl, but not the thickest, most rigid vinyl, either.

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·                               THE COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2 (front side) and 3 (back side)

-        Minor shelf wear noted on the seams (nothing significant)

-        A faint, barely visible water stain affects the area about 1/2 inch wide along the bottom seam; there is no structural damage to the cover, and both cardboard base and paper slick are intact, however, the stain is (barely) visible

-        Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine   (VISIBLE ON BACK SIDE ONLY)
