MOTOWN COLLECTORS - ORIGINAL PICTURE SLEEVE ISSUES - ALWAYS HARD TO COME BY.

Here's a very nice original 1964 USA white Demo copy with the elusive picture sleeve of this classic tune from MARVIN GAYE with "TRY IT BABY" and backed with "IF MY HEART COULD SING" on the US TAMLA imprint # 54095.

Pricing has always been partly determined by the condition of the sleeve rather than the record itself and finding a copy with a decent matching picture sleeve has always been a challenge as many have become soiled and dog-eared over time with heavy creasing, rips, written annotations, price stickers, coffee staining as well as the inevitable deletion drill hole and ring wear. On a scale of 1 through 10 with "ten" being mint, I would rate this sleeve as "9" with light ring wear, light creasing, a small 2 cm split along the top front right hand seam and without any written annotations and with a small price sticker residue on the rear cover.

The disc itself plays perfectly throughout with great audible quality and remains in a strong excellent plus condition with minimal crackle on the run-in and run-out groove and with very light surface sleeve rubs. The labels are very clean on both sides with little evidence of ring wear making this a top copy of this rare combination for the DJ or collector (see picture scans).
