Mary Hopkin - 'Water, Paper and Clay / Jefferson'. APPLE 39
Mary Hopkin 1971 UK 1st Apple DEMO pressing of the 'Water, Paper and Clay / Jefferson' 7" single. Released on the 26th November 1971, and offered here with the addition of a very unusual embossed PKT tax code.
These initial pre-release demo pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers or radio stations. Released on the Apple label both sides state DEMO RECORD NOT FOR SALE and the release date of 26.11.71. As mentioned above the a-side label features an embossed PKT tax code which is very odd as that tax bracket ended on 26 November 1962. Furthermore, tax codes were not featured within the labels from the late 60's onwards. This demo issue must be some kind of pressing error. The vinyl is housed within the original Apple Records sleeve. A hard to find Apple single in demo format.

Side 1. APPLE 39 A-1U 2 G KT
Side 2. APPLE 39 B-1U 1 G KT
The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+/VERY GOOD condition.
Both labels are in EXCELLENT+ condition.
The sleeve is in VERY GOOD- condition.
