The item available here is a NEAR MINT and original RARE UK 7" PROMOTIONAL VINYL SINGLE (especially rare to still find one in near mint condition) of the 1976 Eurovision song from ANNE KARINE STROM and "MATA HARI" in the English version just as it was performed on the Eurovision stage. Like most other Eurovision non-winners, very few shops in the UK bothered to stock this scarce UK release and therefore it never sold very well in the UK and the few copies that made it to the shops sold out very quickly. I obtained this unplayed promotional copy from an ex-radio/tv station stock that I visited in the early nineties and I have only ever seen a couple of copies of this scarce UK promotional edition in all the years I have been selling Eurovision items and this is the only copy of the promo 7" I have ever had for sale over the years. The B-side features another song by Anne-Karine sung in English, "PLEASE DON'T GO AWAY". This rare UK pressing promotional 7" single was issued by DJM records (DJS 664), the label more famous for releasing Elton John's earliest hits. This item was never originally issued in the UK with a picture sleeve but for my own collection I reproduced a top quality glossy picture card sleeve with the correct UK record label logo and catalogue number added. This is a unique one-off picture sleeve print issued especially for this rare copy of the UK promotional single I have on auction. Remember, it was never issued with a picture sleeve in the UK back in 1976 so this print is the first edition and I have no further copies of "MATA HARI", neither promos or issues after this copy has been sold. This will be the only copy available with this unique top quality picture print sleeve. This is a wonderful opportunity to add a highly collectable English language version (and original Eurovision version) and rare UK pressing 7" Eurovision single with a unique sleeve to your record collection, stored carefully for almost 20 years since I obtained it and the vinyl is in near mint condition ! Back in the eighties and nineties I was quite well known among many Eurovision collectors around the world as I always stocked a large selection of Eurovision records and CD's and during the nineties even arranged and financed the official release to press some of the more rare entries for wider availability to collectors. I provided a Discography and photos of all Eurovision releases in the UK for RECORD COLLECTOR magazine and provided recordings and worked to get clearance for tracks on an official UK Eurovision CD release issued by VIRGIN. Due to moving house my Eurovision vinyl has been in safe storage for almost a decade. I have recently acquired back the very last copies of my Eurovision vinyl stocks. In many cases I am down to my very last copy of each entry, especially those in mint condition and I now plan to sell everything over the upcoming months, so keep checking back each week for new additions to my listings.
