Matt Monro - 'Yesterday / Just Yesterday'. R 5348
Matt Monro 1965 UK DEMO pressing of the 'Yesterday / Just Yesterday' 7" single. Released on the 8th October 1965, the a-side here is the classic Beatles composed masterpiece 'Yesterday'. It is offered here in wonderful EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT condition.
These initial early demonstration pressings would have been given out to important reviewers and radio stations prior to the release date. Both labels state: 'DEMONSTRATION RECORD NOT FOR SALE' and the release date of 8.10.65. The vinyl is housed within original Parlophone Records sleeve.
This particular copy was originally owned by ATV Music Publishing. ATV were a major player in 1960's British music who went on to buy Lennon and McCartney's 'Northern Songs' publishing company owning almost all of The Beatles back catalogue. The company was famously sold to Michael Jackson in 1985 very much to Paul McCartney's annoyance.
