Girlfriend is the third album by alternative rock musician Matthew Sweet. It was originally released on Zoo Entertainment in 1991.
Highly collectable release from audiophile label, Classic Records. This title was mastered by Classic Records at Half Speed from the original source master tapes. An all-analog, tube amplification process was used at every step. Classic Records used a proprietary vinyl that guaranteed virtually no surface noise and sonically superior dynamics.
Classic Records pride themselves for releasing each album with the original artwork, LP labels and any other materials which were included with original pressings.
Record is in it's original plastic sleeve with perforation completely opened. Sleeve has a promo sticker (first off the press?). Two sided insert with lyrics, special thanks and photo is like new. Vinyl like new... looks like it has never been played.

Review: Girlfriend is a remarkable artistic breakthrough. Grounded in the guitar pop of the Beatles, Big Star, Byrds, R.E.M., and Neil Young, Girlfriend melds all of Sweet's influences into one majestic, wrenching sound that encompasses both the gentle country-rock of "Winona" and the winding guitars of the title track and "Divine Intervention." Sweet's music might have recognizable roots, but Girlfriend never sounds derivative; thanks to his exceptional songwriting, the album is a fresh, original interpretation of a classic sound.
