CHESS LP by MAURICE VANDER TRIO. ORIGINAL FRENCH LIBRARY LP on CULT LABEL MONTPARNASSE 2000 (MP 62) from the 1970’s. SUPERB JAZZ SESSION with music composed by FRANK DALLONE and performed by a trio featuring MAURICE VANDER on PIANO, ELECTRIC PIANO and ORGAN, GUS NEMETH on BASS and CHRISTIAN LETE on DRUMS and PERCUSSION. Beatheads will dig the track “GRAND ROCQUE” with FUNKY JAZZ DRUMMING and EXCELLENT ELECTRIC PIANO SOLO as well as the DEADLY BOWED DOUBLE-BASS, DRUMS and KEYS INTRO GROOVE of “LE MASSACRE DU DRAGON” or the TENDER and SOULFUL FEEL of “BERCEUSE POUR LAURENT” or “SWEET SWEET I AM”, but the whole LP is a SOLID JAZZ ALBUM which can be enjoyed from beginning to end.
