Original 1981 release on 99 Records (catalog # 99 08-EP), in Picture Sleeve, with 99 Records May 1981 catalog insert.UK via NYC no-wave punk-funk along the lines of E.S.G., Liquid Liquid, Delta 5, Rip Rig & Panic, later Liliput or Essential Logic, etc.
AMG Bio: Maximum Joy was an offshoot of the Pop Group. They were a post-punk band that existed after the Pop Group's breakup in the early '80s. Signed to the Y label, Maximum Joy issued a trio of 12" and 7" singles prior to making Station MXJY, their lone album. Apparently the band split shortly thereafter. Former Pop Group members/guitarists Dan Catsis (who had previously spent time in the Glaxo Babies) and John Waddington formed the group, and they were joined by Janine Rainforth (vocals, clarinet, violin), Kev Evans (bass, piano, vocals), and Tony Wrafter (sax, flute, trumpet). CONDITION: Cover NM / Vinyl NM- cover is excellent, with a small letter written on front; vinyl would be pristine, but has just one minor surface scratch which doesn't really affect play. Graded conservatively using Goldmine standards [G / G+ / VG / VG+ / NM / MINT]MINT grade only used if record is brand new.
