VERY RARE BRITISH PSYCH ROCK ALBUM, EXTREMELY HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER ORIGINAL UK 1st PRESSING.
EXTREMELY RARE VERY EARLY VERTIGO PRESSING ISSUE WITH THE LARGE VERTIGO SWIRL LOGO ON THE LABEL.
VINYL IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
SLEEVE IN VERY GOOD- CONDITION.
OUTSTANDING DEBUT ALBUM FIRST RELEASED IN 1970.
MAY BLITZ ONLY RELEASED TWO ALBUMS, BOTH VERY HIGHLY DESIRABLE AND COLLECTABLE.
First Pressing Matrix Numbers, Side 1 6360007 1Y#1 followed by 1 1 1 and Side B 6360007 2Y#1 followed by 1 2 1.
Side A : Smoking The Day Away; I Don't Know?; Dreaming.
Side B : Sqeet; Tomorrow May Come; Fire Queen; Virgin Waters.
An Absolutely Outstanding Album by one of the great Psych Bands signed to the infamous Vertigo label, one of the very first of the Vertigo stable, and how well did they do to sign so many outstanding bands in so few years!! Fabulous British Psychl/Rock Band of the very end of the sixties and 70's, . Recorded and first released in 1970, one of the great Vertigo Classic Albums. The opening Notes to "Smoking" are terrific!!!
The record is in excellent condition, on the original Large Vertigo Swirl Label on Side B, Both label sides show only the very minimum signs of light spindle marking, no wear to the centre labels. slight mark on side 2. The Vinyl is very clean.
The surface of the record is excellent, the record has a great gloss sheen, only the very minimum of very light surface marks are visible upon close inspection, and even under the brightest of lights, it is difficult tro detect any marks, which is unusual for records of this era and age.
The Record plays very well, virtually free from all but the very lightest of any hiss/crackle is detected and restricted mainly only to the lead ins, and the record plays through very well and has a great strong sound. Nice High Gloss Deep Black Vinyl and Classic Stereo sound. All round excellent sound quality. Very Rare oppotunity to get an original rare vertigo swirl copy.
Gatefold Sleeve is in very good- condition. This is the thick card sleeve which has a matt unlaminated finish and there is some light surface/storage wear. However, there are No Tears or nasty creases, No writing, No unwanted stickers or residue from stickers, No rips on the sleeve. Being unlaminated was prone to marking and some light markings, through handling and age are evident, but not seroious enough to detract from the overall conditio, And trhe Record is Excellent!!. All the outer edges show signs of light storage wear/rubbing, there are No edge splits. The corners are also worn from storage wear, The spine is slightly worn, No splits on spine, but any text on the spine is worn away, The opening edges to the sleeve are quite sharp and crease free. The inner gatefold is in very good condition and very clean, free from wear. Unfortunately not mint, but still a superb sleeve,and a fine, honest example of this very rare record which plays extremely well.
