Mega-Rare Kenya Original press LP. Quality Afro-Beat/High-Life LP from Tanzanian guitarist/bandleader Mbaraka Mwinshehe with his Orchestre Super Volcano!! Strangely the LP is in a sleeve for a different Mbaraka Mwinshehe album entitled "The Last Recordings Of.." (POLP512); but the LP is POLP517 "Live & The Very Last Recordings of.." - i found a blog about it and the cover is virtually identical but coloured orange - you can see it here: http://wrldsrv.blogspot.co.uk/2010/05/very-last-recordings.html (jpegs of the correct cover art front and back can be supplied to the winning bidder also.) Biog: The death of Tanzanian guitarist/bandleader Mbaraka Mwinshehe, following an automobile accident in 1979, resulted in the loss of one of the spearheads of East African dance music. Having established his reputation as a member of Morogoro Jazz, between 1964 and 1973, Mwinshehe continued to make his influence felt as the leader of his own band, Super Volcano, from 1973 until his untimely death six years later. A self-taught guitarist, Mwinshehe played kwela music with Cuban Branch Jazz as a teenager. Studying singing with Salim Abdullah, a founding member of Morogoro Jazz who had gone on to form the Cuban Marimba Band, he continued to grow as a vocalist.

GRADING: I will try and add details but the grades i use are:
MINT - i will only use MINT for sealed records    NM - barely played - immaculate EX - played but in top condition VG+ - maybe a few superficial marks, but plays through with very little or no noise VG - some marks/light scratches, will play with some background noise, and/or clicks but no jumps G+ - very marked, lots of noise / scratches
