Description

An original 1st issue of BITU on USA Atlantic from spring 1970 - whilst charting. Etchings - Side 1 "East Side Det" & "Milan". Side 2 is stamped with the catalogue & matrix 1A. 'Back In The USA' track is timed at 2:25 on the labels - the 1st copies were timed like this with the covers reporting '2:35'. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original rear pasted cover. Please note that both the cover and the vinyl both make reference to the original Atlantic address at '1841 Broadway'. We also have an original poly-bag inner from the early 70's.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. It plays an absolute treat - some great audio on this slab. Lots of power and energy, but also a quiet background for finessing the lower key moments. Loving it - 'electric'! This title often gets a bit of grief for being a bit sanitised vs their original live outing. I'd say - ok fair play...but it still frickin' rocks! At worst a few slight crackles in one brief spot in 'Let Me Try'. An absolute banger! Highly recommended - a piece of rock n roll history in marvellous condition.
Cover (Vg+) In great condition and I don't imagine many original copies will be looking quite this tidy. First thing to mention is that the white front is going to age in nearly all cases. I'm pleased to report only light ageing at extremities on this example - that is better than the typical copy. Please note hole punched in the catalogue number top right [common on the USA copies]. There's also a crease bottom right - but in all other respects the front is looking smart. The rear is going to usually be an issue too. Precious little ageing apparent on the rear for this one - very tidy. Scuffing and wear would usually be common place - but this rear is dead dead tidy. Very minor edge wear - which is unusual. Spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A  terrific looking specimen.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. A 1c.m. side split.
