The MC5 “Back In The USA”. Rare, original Atlantic Records Promotional Sample Copy. 1970 Atlantic Records SD 8247 (ST-A-691719 PR). Stereo Pressing on Black & White label. Includes original “Atlantic Records” Inner sleeve.

Immaculate LP sleeve. As close to “As New” as you are likely to find. A real beauty.

LP SLEEVE:

- The original factory shrinkwrap is still around the LP sleeve except for the side opening portion and along the back cover where it split apart vertically (see pic)

- Immaculate condition. No seam-splits, rips, or tears. Corners have crisp 90 degree angles.

- Spine is straight and crisp with clearly legible print.

- Due to still being in the original shrinkwrap, it has defied any age discoloration and still retains the gorgeous original cream-white color on the front and the deep black and white on the back.

- There is a “D” within a circle that’s factory stamped on one corner of the shrinkwrap on the back cover. This is stamped on the shrinkwrap and not on the LP sleeve itself. There is no writing or marks on either side of the LP sleeve.

- No promo “notches” or “cutouts” anywhere on the LP sleeve.

- Overall, an amazingly well-preserved 52 year old album. Mint to Near Mint (conservatively). A real stunner. Basically it looks as new.

- Note: Anything that appear in the pictures here to be scratches, rips, line marks, writing, creases/wrinkles are only on the shrinkwrap, NOT on the LP sleeve.

ORIGINAL ATLANTIC FACTORY INNER SLEEVE:

- Stunningly well preserved with just one small seam-split to one edge (about an inch long).

- Some slight wrinkling and creasing.

- No significant signs of age discoloration.

- Amazing condition considering the delicate construction of these thin paper sleeves.

VINYL:

- Matrix & Etchings Side One: ST-A-691719-F, GM, East Det, LW, X, Milan, AT, AST 17696 A 1-31 (note: this last etching has a line crossed through it. See pic)

- Matrix & Etchings Side Two: ST-A-691720-A, BHT, B1 STEREO, GM, East Det, Milan

- Vinyl surface has a rich, deep and shiny gloss.

- If you were to tilt the vinyl at an angle against direct sunlight, some wispy hairline marks, blemishes, and superficial line scuffs become noticeable. These marks are not clearly visible under normal lighting conditions, however.
