BACK IN THE USA

Atlantic Records SD5247 <> Stereo <> Original 1970 Issue <> Made In USA

White Label Promo DJ Issue

COVER: VG++ ~Super-clean with snapping bright glossy front. Light wear to back. PROMO sticker on front. Seams have small spots of wear but no splits.

VINYL: VG++ ~The VINYL itself is nearly NM with only very faint sleeve marks, and plays bold and incredibly clear; like new, throughout. NO scratches or scuffs. The White "SAMPLE COPY - NOT FOR SALE" labels are snapping bright with no spindle marks or wear, but side 2 is marked with a stamped date (Jan 27, 1970) and a red number written in ink.

STRICT, CONSERVATIVE GOLDMINE Ratings

DEAD WAX has "GM East Det" and "Milan" and "wess 254" etched on both sides

NOTE: this "254" is the same number that is hand-written in red on both the LP label (side 2) and the inner sleeve. I really don't know its significance.

The dead wax has a slew of etched notations, many of which I am not familiar with in Atlantic's pantheon of numberings or dead wax notation, and are probably specific to this PROMO pressing.

MC5's second LP and their first for ATLANTIC. The original band completely intact (but with Producer/manager JOHN SINCLAIR in jail), they were less into the politics and recorded a ferocious, stripped-down, razor-sharp sound.

While lacking the monumental first impact of Kick Out the Jams, the MC5's second album is in many regards their best and most influential, its lean, edgy sound anticipating the emergence of both the punk and power pop movements to follow later in the decade.

This LP is kept in a protective, clear poly outer-sleeve, as you shall receive it.
