1970? original CANADA press ELEKTRA EKS-74042-A STEREO
CONDITION : vinyl EX cover VG+• RUNOUT GROOVE : eks-74042-a-ax-(cp)1-B1 *****

5 gifted freedom fighters from Detroit Michigan, capitol of cars
and spawning ground of a sound that defied and defined with some hot road tar and gravel in the mouth jumpered with electrical current and of course acid spells out the Motor City Five. MC5. Inspired early on by the cosmic sounds of Sun Ra, these guys just melted the pot that could call the kettle round.
This was a recording taken by the fine folks at Elektra, who came by the Grande Ballroom TWICE to record MC5 for the debut album. The first time was a failure? This is the 2nd time 'round. Too bad Elektra was so fickle in the end and mess with the politics of the Liner notes, with Suit politics..but then again, this is music, should that not transcend politics?

This is a rare copy, in great shape, with paste on front and back cover, non-gatefold and censored. I think it's a 1970 pressing.
Any version of this is rare as a Canadian pressing.
