OFFERED IS: MEET THE BEATLES  - Capitol Records T-2047  The Absolute First Issue East Coast Stereo LP with No BMI Credits & No ASCAP Credits!!   

THE BEATLES first LP on Capitol Records.  ST-2047.  This is the absolute first pressing from the Capitol Records Scranton Factory from January 1964 - these ultra rare Stereo copies have no BMI and no ASCAP crediting on either label!  Beatles expert and noted author Perry Cox estimates only 2,000 copies of this rare stereo version sold in 1964!  They were only available for a very short time before they changed the labels to include BMI and ASCAP crediting.   The jacket is a first issue Stereo copy RIAA # 3 with no George Martin credits.   The very first issues from the Scranton factory had BEATLES in dark brown or tan colored letters;  this copy has tan letters.  This jacket is in really nice excellent condition with no seam splits and a very nice readable spine! 

The estimates are that less than 2,000 copies of this Stereo pressing were originally made, with likely most of those being played to death!  The number of initial mono copies is estimated at 20,000, or about 10 times more than the Stereo pressings!   These Stereo copies are much rarer to find!    The vinyl still shows some of the original gloss and the labels are also in Excellent condition.  The vinyl grades Very Good to Very Good+ with Side2 being a bit better than Side1.  There are no deep scratches or long marks on the vinyl;  nothing feelable or even close;  just lots of fine lines on both sides.  The labels are the high gloss versions and both are in Excellent condition with no writing, tears, tape or other issues.   Side 2's label has a bit of wear to the outside color ring.  The record weighs in at 160 grams so it's close to being a heavyweight.   The deadwax on Side 1 shows "ST-1-2047-A1" while Side 2 shows "ST-2-2047-A1". 

   It includes the original Capitol Records royal blue colored Inner Sleeve in nice condition too as it has only one 2" split on the bottom center.  Again, the vinyl still retains much of it's original gloss on both sides;  there are lots of fine lines on both sides.  Labels are both Excellent condition.  Jacket =  VG++  Vinyl = Very Good to Very Good+
