Description
First things first - I'm not the original owner. This is an odd package in that the cover is beautiful while the record looks like VG (lots of light hairline scratches but none I could feel) but plays like a strong VG+ with almost no distracting "crackle" during most of the music except in the most quiet spots.
COVER Look for yourself - it's gorgeous. No moisture stains or anything to distract from the pristine colors. The only flaw is that while the tight shrink has protected the jacket, it may be that since I took the record out of the jacket 10 years ago it seems to have given the opening or mouth of the jacket a bit of bending. It hardly distracts from the beauty of the cover and I hope the flaw is visible in the cover photos. VINYL If you are the winning bidder and want to hear a great sound play "Hold Me Tight." Want to hear the record at it's worst? Listen to "'Til There Was You." Hopefully, you're a bigger fan of the former than the latter. Once the music gets going it sounds great. Play a song like "I Wanna Be Your Man" and it sounds like it just came out of the factory. For the true vinyl aficionado, this record should be looked at as VG because of crackle between the songs, some background noise on the quiet songs and the visual condition. For the rest of us, you've never heard the piano on "Not A Second Time" the way it sounds on this super early mono pressing - and that's why I love it. I've tried to upload photos that put the record in it's worst light so there will be no unpleasant surprises. It still delivers great sound on nearly every song. LABELS Fair condition with no writing - see photos. SELLING DETAILS The item is being sold "as is" with no returns. Every stereo plays differently and everyone's ears are subjective - the record has no skips on my turntable but who knows what will happen on yours. I've done my best to describe the item - photos can be deceiving - so bid with the understanding that your grade of the item may be different from mine and it is being sold as-is. It's a nice example of a super scarce pressing of the Beatles first Capitol LP and a fine listening experience. Thanks
