Description
Let me begin by saying that I have read and read so that I might educate myself about this album. SO, I will give the best description I possibly can , so that you might know and understand exactly what this album is. Also, let me apologize for poor quality in my photo dept. There is some sun glare.
It is my understanding/belief that this is 'the first pressing' of Meet The Beatles recorded in 1964. I have read that "....copies without the publishing credits "BMI" or "ASCAP" on the labels were swept off the shelves during the onslaught of Beatlemania and most have been played beyond recognition and tossed out. Today, only about 20 to 25 examples have been verified so far to survive, and most of these copies are in vg or less condition." I am quoting Fab 4 Collectibles from their website about this particular album.
I have searched and searched all over the album and album cover and there is no mention of "BMI" or "ASCAP" anywhere.
The album cover is in GOOD condition. Here are the only issues that I can find: there is a small C written in blue ink next to T2047 in the top right hand corner on the BACK above where it says "Capitol Records HIGH FIDELITY RECORDING Also Available in Stereo" (Although it DOES NOT SAY MONO ANYWHERE ON THIS ALBUM.)
On the front there is a faint blue ink mark as though you might have let an ink pen brush up against the album. Binding: On top and bottom is excellent. The outside edge has only one small area about 1 1/2" where it has cracked. Front of album shows VERY LITTLE WEAR!!! The blacks are very black and the Letters show little to NO wear. Back of album shows some wear on the lower left side. SORRY, there is no dust cover.
Record: In remarkably good condition considering its age. NO BIG SCRATCHES. Markings on album (if this helps) says T2047, under that is (T-X-2-2047) that is on side 2. Here is what side 2 says:
