MEIC STEVENS, Bywyd Ac Angau LP

Meic Stevens undoubtedly something of a genius, his recordings are often classed simply as Welsh Folk, but they are a million miles from the stuffy traditional image that might conjure up,  the term Acid-Folk is also often used in reference to his recordings and this certainly does more to describe his unusual slightly psychedelic approach.

 

This release is remarkably rare, in fact almost impossible to find even though it came out on the fairly well established Fflach label. Go on, Google it and you will find no other copies for sale and very little info (I submitted the Discogs listing from this copy)

 

Short and narrow, this is a rare opportunity to own a copy!

 

The record appears to be a promo (Was it actually fully released?) it has a simple white label and comes in a paper sleeve

 

CONDITION

While I can see no spindle marks to indicate play THERE ARE A NUMBER OF LIGHT SCRATCHES ON THE VINYL CAUSED BY THE PAPER, these are not deep but one in particular is quite visible. Grading falls squarely in VG+ and you may well hear some noise as there are several very quiet songs

Since listing I have had the following info sent to me (Thanks!)

This was a promo only LP (maybe 50 copies?) the full release was on cassette and CD only. It is in the Hans Pokora book with 4 Stars. The title means "Life and Death". The sleeve in the Pokora book is "home made" I don't think it ever had a sleeve. Hope this helps!

As you can see from the titles, many of the songs are sung in English
