MELLOTONES (Mello-Kings) rare pressing “Tonite Tonite” HERALD nice! HEAR

Artist/Group:   The MELLOTONES (Mello-Kings)

Titles:  “Tonite Tonite” / “Do Baby Do”

Label:   HERALD.  Label is yellow with black text.  Catalog number is H-502.  Matrix number is G&C-108 (etched).

NOTE:  Record was first issued and sent to radio stations under the group name “The Mellotones” until it was discovered that another group already had rights to the name, so this group’s name was changed to the Mello-Kings prior to large-scale release, and the rest as they say, is history.

Year:  1957

Condition:   Nice VG+ with 100% of original gloss.  There are a couple very small dots that produce two audible ticks in the first few seconds, and a very slight bit of surface noise at the outset.  Otherwise, the record plays through nicely with excellent fidelity considering that Herald used a sub-standard grade of vinyl in the manufacturing process. 

Labels are clean except for a small notation (index number from the radio station) neatly written on each side in light pen.   

An essential record for the serious doo-wop collector, and in very collectible condition.  As with all my records, your satisfaction is fully guaranteed.
