MERCED BLUE NOTES - WHOLE LOTTA NOTHING / FRAGILE [TRI-PHI 1023]

Label: Tri-Phi 1023 Titles: "Whole Lotta Nothing" & "Fragile" Year: 1963
This record has an error. The single was released with the A side as "Whole Lotta Nothing" and the B side as "Fragile." However something happened unusual with this single. On this particular label, the A side is listed as "Fraglie" and the B side as "Whole Lotta Nothing. However it was not the label improperly put on, it was the title. So, the A side song, "Whole Lotta Nothing" does properly correspond to the "A" on the label, however the title is wrong. Likewise, the B side really does play "Fragile," however "Whole Lotta Nothing" is listed on the B side. I have seen several cases where records have had the labels on the wrong side, but this is an odd one as the wrong song title is printed on each side, but the label indicator ("A" or "B") does in fact hold true to what song is on the vinyl. If you do click to play the songs, you will see the correct title in conjunction with the song, but this is because I matched the right picture up with the correct title. If you look closer at the photos, you will see where is says "TP-1023-A" under "Fragile", and "TP-1023-B" under "Whole Lotta Nothing." So, again, the side listed as A & B do play the correct tracks, but the title is inverted on either side! I hope that makes sense! 
This R&B Funk single was one of the last released on Harvey Fuqua's Tri-Phi label before he left to work for Motown. The single focuses on each member of the band with a shout out describing what they play when it is their time. It's a heavy funk cut with influence from jump blues. "Fragile" slows it down quite considerable and is heavily blues oriented.
The label has typical label wear on either side. There was a sticker over each side's title that had the correct title on, however this was removed from either side and you can see where it left the color preserved on that area. There is no writing on the label. The vinyl has typical wear on either side. You can listen to the actual record here.

*Please note - my turntable is a simple ION Profile LP simply for converting media. It is by no means a high end turntable and the sound quality will be MUCH better on a higher end turn table.
All records come with basic sleeves unless a factory or picture sleeve is indicated in the description. I do not use a grading system as I feel that everyone interprets it differently. For example, I see many records listed as being Near Mint, yet the label is torn or has writing on it. To me that is not near mint. I prefer to describe the record as best I can, post photos, and allow viewers to listen to the actual record as to determine for themselves how the record should be graded.
I ship using Media Mail at $3.00 and deliver the day of or after the payment is received. Please remember that shipping costs also include the cost of materials to ship the order. International shipping is available. The cost to ship this Internationally is $14.00.  I will also combine shipping. I try to keep shipping costs as low as possible, however recent increases by USPS have affected what I charge to ship - and believe me, I am NOT happy about it.
I am happy to ship internationally, however I will not change the value of the record. There are many reasons for this. First, I enjoy selling records and do not want to jeopardize that. Second, I include a receipt with the order and if customs were to examine the package, they would see the difference. Third, if something were to happen to the item in shipping, I would refund the customers money, but then not be able to claim what was lost. Thanks you for understanding.
