Description: Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one featuring the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, Antal Dorati, cond.

Several unique things about this item: Firstly, these discs retain the original shine with no visible imperfections grading by sight in normal room light. I'm sure if you took these and put them under a 1000 watt bulb, you'd probably find something that makes them less than mint. If you're that kind of collector, let me suggest this auction is not for you.

I don't claim these records are mint. Based on past experience and visual examination, I'd expect the tracks to audibly average better than VG+(excellent) with some scattered very light surface noise. If you want an audio grade of an entire record, no problem, just drop me a note well in advance of the end of auction. You can then assign your own grade based on my comments on what I heard and the GRADING SCALE BELOW!. I did take the time to test the records in three spots on each side and noted only some very light surface noise on a couple tests.

Keep in mind how it plays for me may differ how it plays for you based on differences in audio equipment.

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s).

Here is a summary of the record(s):

Artist: Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, Antal Dorati, cond. Title: Dvorak Slavonic Dances Record: Black vinyl with original shine and no visible imperfections grading by sight in normal room light. Labels: Maroon with silver print. No stickers, no pen/pencil marks, a few spindle marks. Trailing wax: Side 1: "SR 90193 FR5". Side 4: "SR 90193B FR5". Inner sleeve(s): Two wax paper sleeves, some corner folds, lots of crinkles, some top edge tattering. A couple of centered seam splits. Cover: A small sticker front upper left corner. Corners slightly/moderately worn. Bottom back outer corner barely split 1/4". This is a gatefold cover (it opens up). No pen/pencil marks. Slight general/ring wear. Some light spotting, similar to foxing in an old book. Inside there is a slight 1" x 1/4" stain along the lower spine, it extends 1" from the spine towards each of the outer corners. It is light and does NOT encroach into any print. Rate the cover VG to VG+(excellent). You can assign your own grade based on my comments. Comments: Based on past experience, short tests, and visual examination, I'd expect the tracks to audibly average at least VG+(excellent) with some very light surface noise. If you want an audio grade (please request well in advance of the end of auction), you can then assign your own grade based on my comments and the scale shown below. Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

• NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
• 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
• 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
• VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
• VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
• G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I normally ship a single record in a standard 12.5 x 12.5 x 1 record mailer. Weight with box is 1 pound 11 ounces. Shipping is $3.09 Media Rate (1-2 pounds) + $1.20 box/tape/pack = $4.29.
Alternatively, I can ship in a 14 x 14 x 6" box. Weight with box is about 1 pound 9 oz. Shipping is $3.09 Media Rate (1-2 pounds) + $1.70 box/tape/packing = $4.79.
