MERLE SPEARS northern soul 45 “I Want To Know” demo
Artist: MERLE SPEARS and The TREATS
Titles: “I Want to Know” / “I’m Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town”
Label: ATLANTIC. White label demo. Catalog number is 45-2243.
Year: 1964
Condition: Condition is nice VG to VG+ with most of the original gloss remaining. Has been played a small number of times, and would grade higher except for one very small scratch at the beginning of the A-side that produces a couple loud pops at the start of the track. The remainder of the track plays great. No skips or jumps. You can hear the affected portion in the sound clip (above).
I think it is still a great sounding record, and would grade EX or very close if it were not for the pops at the outset. I believe it will sound excellent on the dance floor.
Includes original vintage ATLANTIC RECORDS factory sleeve in nice condition.
