ELVIS PRESLEY -  The ORIGINAL RCA album entitled ELVIS SINGS THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF CHRISTMAS (ANL1-1936) is a 1975 reissue of an LP from four years earlier (LSP-4579). Principal tracks were laid down in Nashville on May 15th and 16th, 1971, with overdubbing one week to a month later.  

 ELVIS SINGS THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF CHRISTMAS (ANL1-1936) original factory sealed has a small cutout in jacket - The RCA album entitled ELVIS SINGS THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF CHRISTMAS (ANL1-1936) is a 1975 reissue of an LP from four years earlier (LSP-4579). Principal tracks were laid down in Nashville on May 15th and 16th, 1971, with overdubbing one week to a month later.

These may have been rushed sessions, for the King's voice is not always up to par here. He has breath control and tremolo difficulties on "Snowy Christmas Night" and "Home on Christmas Day," plus lyrics are slurred on "Won't Seem Like Christmas."

The Imperials Quartet back Elvis on all save "Winter Wonderland" and Merry Christmas Baby," the album's highlight: an extra-long bluesy number featuring Presley's core studio backing band (Chet Atkins on guitar, pianist Floyd Cramer, Charlie McCoy's harmonica, etc.). It's this set's only non-country song and is simply marvelous. "Winter Wonderland" is a rockin' Nashville production with a guitar solo from Atkins. Cramer's tinkling keys are prominent on the title track.

Johnny Cash was a musical phenomenon and an American icon with his legendary musical career starting in the 1950's at Sun Records. His plethora of hit recordings led to a major move to Columbia Records, and the late legend charted recordings in all the major formats like country, rock , pop, folk, and gospel genres, sharing his legendary vocal, guitar and songwriting persona for millions of fans worldwide.

With 1963's The Christmas Spirit Lp, Johnny Cash teams up with producer Don Law (Ray Price) and created one of the most revered holiday and inspirational hit albums of all time. The album features Johnny's stellar interpretations of both popular and religious favorites like the definitive hit version of "I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day," the Tex Ritter favorite "Here Was A Man," June Carter Cash's "Christmas As I Knew It," plus more traditional fare such as "Blue Christmas" and "The Little Drummer Boy." His impressive readings of inspirational favorites like "Silent Night, Holy Night," plus Johnny's own "The Christmas Spirit" and "Who Kept The Sheep," truly made the The Christmas Spirit Lp a groundbreaking effort for this sorely missed legend.

This fine album has been out of print for decades on vinyl, and it is our honor to announce the first time 180-gram audiophile vinyl presentation of The Christmas Spirit by the late great Johnny Cash on Friday Music. This limited edition audiophile masterpiece is now impeccably mastered by Joe Reagoso and is pressed by RTI on 180-gram vinyl for the holidays. Also, the LP features the original artwork not seen in years, in a first time gatefold presentation exclusively from the Columbia Records archives.

The Vince Guaraldi Trio A Charlie Brown Christmas FANTASY RECORDS ISSUE SO LONG OUT OF PRINT IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A BARCODE ON THE JACKET

Peanuts comic creator Charles M. Schulz called on pianist extraordinaire Vince Guaraldi and his trio to compose and perform music that would reflect the humor, charm and innocence of Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the entire Peanut gang for their 1965 Christmas TV special. It was a perfect match.

When Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas album was inducted into the Library of Congress, the Library's media release noted, "A Charlie Brown Christmas introduced jazz to millions of listeners." According to annotator and Guaraldi biographer Bang, "The importance of [that] sentence can not be overstated." Children all over the world who had resisted jazz as the music of their parents were given an introduction.

The album's centerpiece track, today as it was in 1965, is "Christmas Time Is Here," the soulful instrumental version that clocks in at just over six minutes.

"As for Guaraldi, his penetrating improvisational phrases paint pictures of the first winter snowfall, myriad glistening trees, and powdery white landscapes. With its blend of contemporary jazz and lyrical mannerisms, A Charlie Brown Christmas is a joyous and festive meditation for the holiday season."
