Condizioni : copertina quasi perfetta, giusto minime tracce d'usura lungo il bordo superiore; grande stato, NEAR MINT / vinile, che appare suonato diverse volte, con un certo numero di segni superficiali che condizionano l'ascolto principalmente con del rumore di fondo, qualche clicchettio e pochi maggiormente udibili tocs; non male per un microsolco di 61 anni ! Buono stato, VG+

Conditions : cover is almost perfect, just slight traces of wear along the top edge / vinyl, played several times, shows a certain number of surface marks affecting listening with some background noise, some audible clicks and a few more audible tocs, NEAR MINT. Not bad for a microgroove of 61 years ! Strong VG+

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Notes : la musica originale del bel film di John Ford fu composta da Victor Young. Essendo il film ambientato in Irlanda e nelle sue belle campagne vennero inseriti alcuni brani di musica tradizionale composta da vari autori rigorosamente Irlandesi o quantomeno di discendenza come nel caso dell'interprete del disco, Merv Griffin, attore e soprattutto celebre showman televisivo. Le canzoni hanno origini anche molto lontane come nel caso della poetica " The Young May Moon " composta nel diciottesimo secolo da Thomas Moore. Ricca di grande pathos la stupenda " Isle of Innisfree " composta dal poeta e poliziotto Irlandese Richard Farrelly e scelta da John Ford come tema d'apertura del film. Ebbe un grande successo nella versione di Bing Crosby ed è considerata una delle più belle canzoni Irlandesi. Arrangiamenti, coro e conduzione orchestrale di Sydney Green.  

Notes : the original music of John Ford's great movie was composed by Victor Young. Being the movie set in Ireland and its beautiful countryside were included in the soundtrack some traditional tunes composed by various authors rigorously Irish or of this descent at least as in the case of the performer of the disc, Merv Griffin, actor and above all the famous TV showman. The songs have very far away origins as in the case of the poetic " The Young May Moon " composed in the eighteenth century by Thomas Moore. Rich of great pathos the wonderful " Isle of Innisfree " composed by the Irish poet and policeman Richard Farrelly and chosen by John Ford as the opening theme of the film. It had a huge success in the version of Bing Crosby and is considered one of the most beautiful Irish songs.  Arrangements, chorus and orchestra by Sydney Green.

Due premi Oscar nel 1953, miglior regista e migliore fotografia a colori, per una commedia sentimentale con risvolti drammatici. Uno dei più insoliti film di John Ford. La produzione è Americana ed il cast comprende John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, Barry Fitzgerald.
