METAL URBAIN
Metal Urbain was one of the first French punk groups, formed in 1976 in Paris. They were heavily influenced by The Clash and The Sex Pistols on one hand, and on the other by an electro approach related to "Metal Machine Music" by Lou Reed. They relied on heavily distorted guitars and replaced the traditional rock rhythm section of bass guitar/drums with a synthesizer and drum machine, a then-unique approach that foreshadowed the experimental possibilities that were explored by later post-punk bands such as Big Black. They were also known for their radical image (the color scheme of albums always being a stark black, white and red), and subversive lyrics sung in French. They were met with much enthusiasm in England, particularly by John Peel and the Rough Trade label. (Métal Urbain's single "Paris Maquis" was Rough Trade's first release.)

I got this record in a stock coming from an old record shop...
I usually don’t use the grading system, because of too many disputes and different interpretations (some say vg for vg+, some others say nm for ex, and finally, nobody really knows ! That’s why I prefer you look at pictures which you can enlarge and ask for details for vinyl and extract if you want it). I describe things such as they are, I try to do it the best I can, but you can ask for any question, then I’ll try to give you the answer as soon as possible ! Just look at my feedbacks ! Thank you ! I use the NM to describe this one, because I know where it comes from and I never have a listening to it !
