Metallica – “One” White Label Promo 7” Mispress

Here’s a chance to own a highly sought after Metallica single. This is a rare white label promo 45 for their hit song “One.” The picture sleeve lists the tracks included as “One” b/w “The Prince.” This is not the case as “One” appears on both sides with both sides actually marked “A Side.” This is either a misprinted record or a special promotional item, I don’t know, but either way, it’s unique. Unfortunately, this wasn’t well taken care of. The sleeve looks like it has some water damage. Some of the colors are fading and there are darker watermarks present. This was also stuck to something and both sides have been separated and torn. The picture sleeve is whole (no rips) but in poor condition. The record, however, has been graded very good. One side (more played side) has several scratches that are visible but light to the touch. I’ve played both sides a number of times and these marks create some pops and surface noise here and there but it’s not constant. The other A-side has a few marks with a hint of surface noise and pops, but the surface noise is definitely more prominent on the more played side. But, there are no skips or jumps, it plays fine and none of the noise is overwhelming. It really plays more like VG+, but because of the visible wear, I decided to give it the old VG.

I have played many of these records personally and taken the time give accurate grading. I played them on a very cheap belt-driven Sony turntable. If you have better equipment, most of these will probably sound or play better than they did for me. What you are bidding on is an actual portrayal of what you will receive. I do my best to describe everything I sell in accurate and honest detail. If the items say new, they are new. LP’s will be shipped in a sturdy vinyl mailer outside of the cover in an inner-sleeve (unless sealed) between one or two pieces of cardboard (depending on the number of LP’s in the mailer). 7” or 45’s are shipped between two pieces of cardboard and bubble wrap in an envelop. Delivery confirmation and insurance are optional but must be requested upon auction ending. It is not necessary but highly encouraged due to the carelessness of the United States Postal Service.
