up for sale today we have;
METALLICA - "One"
This is a bit of an oddity, I bought this some 20 years ago and didn`t notice at the time that it`s not what it appears to be; the vinyl is supposed to play the regular album version on both sides actually plays the normal tracks off of the 12" but has had copies of the promo labels added to it (there does not appear to be labels underneath but the labels look copied), the cover has two printouts of the front & rear artwork glued to a plain white album sleeve (see the 3rd pic for a little detail where it is partially unstuck).
the guy i got this from also had some interesting un-released paperwork that came with my copy of the metallipromo which appeared to be an early draft of the tour dates for england in 88 and details of the original plan to release a limited amount of ..Justice as a double lp and then all later copies as a single lp, this plan was scrapped.
this leads me to believe this was a mock up done by the record label to get the details correct/ready before ordering the promo 12"`s to be made.
point 1) this may be an un-official item but as it came from someone in the music industry i think it is genuine.
point 2) the printouts of the artwork are done on thick quality paper not just photcopied.
point 3) this originally came with the 7" `Story Behind The Song` blue insert! (THIS IS LONG GONE!!!).
