Description
Metallica – Ride The Lightning (1984, Elektra promo press)
Strong VG/VG vinyl, plays VG+ with an occasional static/dust tic in quiet sections (which are few on this recording), graded VG due to a superficial non-affecting sweep mark across A-side, with B- side also having one mark that does not affect play, both viewed under powerful LED light. Sleeve is strong VG, with minor rubbing and soft shelf wear. Has gold promo stamp prominently in place versus being cut-out, as can sometimes be the case with these promotional copies. Of note to collectors will be the Allied ‘AR’ plant designation on the labels versus the more common Speciality ‘SP’ designation, making this copy the more elusive of the two. For those interested in audio quality, the Elektra promo pressings are revered for their hot, blistering attack and pummeling soundstage. Play tested, no audio flaws, spins flat.
Conservatively graded for guaranteed satisfaction using Goldmine standard. LP comes vacuum-washed on pro equipment, placed in a new paper inner, and shipped in hard LP mailers (vinyl placed outside of sleeve).
