Description
This is the very rare MFSL Test Pressing of Beethoven’s 9th - George Solti conducting, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, original matrix number MFSL 2-516. This is side A & B only; movements 1 and 2 only. There is no C& D mate for this test pressing available. This copy has never been played. It has never been removed from its’ inner rice paper sleeve. This is in absolutely Mint, Perfect condition!
I got this from a very serious collector 4 years ago. He stated it was never removed from its inner sleeve…(much of the text for this ad is directly quoted from his original ad at that time). I never played this or it from its rice paper sleeve either.
This comes in a plain white album cover with just the words “Sample Record- Not For Sale…” along top of cover (..see photo). It has a white label with “MFSL, Inc” in large block letters and “TEST PRESSING’ printed on it.
Test pressings are the first records pressed from a new mold. The mold is made from the ‘metal mother’. The ‘metal mother’ is made from the lacquer cut on the lathe at Mobile Fidelity’s lab.

Record has been stored upright in a protective resealable mylar sleeve. This Lp was remastered with the Original master tapes of the recording session. It's pressed on to a special virgin high definition vinyl. The surface is virtually perfect so noise is not a factor. You would have to hear this to realize what an excellent product MFSL made. This test pressing would have the finest sound of any copy available for this title!
