Description
This offering is my Beatles Collection. I worked for MFSL in the eighties and collated these from the first shipment of records that came from the J Victor Company of Japan to the MFSL warehouse in Northridge, CA. It’s not an official numbered collection as it came from the first boxes of 100 albums. As per request from an eBayer, I'm including pictures of the album art booklets I have in my possession. I acquired these booklets some time after collating my collection. I have 3 of them. The one I am including with this offering is the one that's in the best condition.
All 14 albums are unplayed and in mint condition. That's why there are no pictures of the albums out of their rice paper sleeves. They've never been taken out of the sleeves! I have another collection of test pressings that I use for my personal enjoyment. Please don’t ask because I won’t sell the test pressings! I had planned on gifting this collection to someone who has since passed. I find I just don’t have a valid reason to keep it any longer…you’re gain! Records in this collection are:
- Please Please Me
- With The Beatles
- A Hard Day's Night
- Beatles For Sale
- Help!
- Rubber Soul
- Revolver
- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
- The Beatles (White Album) Album 1
- The Beatles - (White Album) Album 2
- Yellow Submarine
- Abbey Road
- Magical Mystery Tour
- Let It Be
This box also includes the album cover artwork booklet in excellent condition. The box latch has tarnished a little over the 30 years since this limited edition collection went out of production even though I have kept it in an air-conditioned environment its whole life. The jackets are the original ones with the tape box descriptions of the ¼ inch master tapes.
I don’t know whether you’ve ever noticed, but the tapes in the pictures on the jackets are not of the original masters and don’t match the contents as described on the boxes. MFSL being the audiophile geeks they were wouldn’t let the masters be exposed to the heat of the lights the photographer used in the session, so they used the same tape in each photograph – an edited and spliced grouping of blank tape and paper leader tape!
No Geo-Disc is included with this box.
Due to problems with overseas shipping, all non-US buyers must contact me prior to bidding.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
