MFSL Beatles Abbey Road & Supertramp Crime of the Century audiophile lps

Here is a lot of two Mobile Fidelity audiophile lps:  The Beatles Abbey Road MFSL 1- 023 and Supertramp Crime of the Century MFSL 1 - 005
First off, the bad news:  These are NOT mint specimens.  They are not bad and fully enjoyable on a good playback system, but if you are after mint,  silent surfaces and like new covers move along!  I purchased both of these used years ago and they were both treated with manic audiophile care, but they were not mint to begin with.   I'll detail the specifics by the album:
Abbey Road:  The cover is in pretty good shape with a little shelf wear, especially along the spine and edges.  This example includes the rice paper sleeve and stiffening insert with a catalogue going to 1-049, the Kenny Rodgers lp.  The vinyl appears in good shape with some wear around the spindle hole from my Ariston lp clamp--see pix.  This is not a sign of abuse while missing the turntable spindle.  Side 1 has surface noise with more than average crackles and pops...side 2 is a little cleaner.  The music comes through terrific and you can really tell the quality and care in getting this music into these grooves.  But let me emphasize this is a noisy example!  Get a good deal on this here to get a taste for the sound.
Crime of the Century - This cover is shelf worn with a couple of the corners munched in a little.   It is not terribly bad, but this certainly is not a brand new copy.  This is an early version in the Mobile Fidelity releases, the stiffening sleeve is solid white, no printing at all.  The rice paper sleeve appears a little faded.  The vinyl looks good, though there is sticker residue from a price tag on the label which occasionally sticks to the rice paper.  The same marks from my Ariston record clamp appear on this too.   Playing through this on my current set up (VPI Mk III) reveals a killer recording.  This was cut at a high level and the dynamics are superb.  There is a little surface noise between tracks and the quiet parts.  On side 1 there is a click/scratch for a few moments on one of the tracks, but it was the only one I noticed on the play through.  Side 2 begins with some crackles as "Dreamer" begins, but the music and sound is so good this is not distracting.  There is a click on this track and later on this side during "If Everyone was Dreaming" which is noticeable, especially because there are some very quiet moments in the music on that track.  Overall this is a very enjoyable album with really killer sound but it is interrupted with a few clicks.
These lps sound terrific and would be great introductions to the glory of Mobile Fidelity, but just be aware they contain more surface noise than usual.
