Description
The teen hysteria that ushered Duran Duran into the '80s was the very thing that nearly destroyed the band later in its career. After the unexpected and overwhelming international success of their first 2 albums, the band set the pace for the decade with its innovative synthesizer based music and beautifully produced exotic videos. However, it was Duran Duran's 3rd album, 'Seven and The Ragged Tiger' released in 1983, that saw the group's popularity reach epic proportions, even rivaling that of Michael Jackson the same year 'Thriller' was released. The songs were an intelligent blend of tropical themes, savvy synthesizer work, and catchy melodies. The production and engineering were top notch and made it clear that this was a band that was serious about its music.
In 1984 Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab released what many consider to be the finest pressing of 'Seven And The Ragged Tiger' (MFSL 1-182).....the definition, detail, and clarity (particularly in John Taylor's bass guitar) is astounding. Leaves no doubt that the original analog master tapes were definitely used in the preparation for this pressing.
Cover: Excellent(+)....due to the thickness and weight of the record and protective thick inner, a 5" seam split (along the bottom right edge) was the result. However, it has been expertly repaired (see photos) If not for this inoffensive detail this jacket would easily grade Near Mint. Spine is near perfect.....colors are vivid and striking. An important note: This cover is the rarer, thicker, matt-textured version. Later covers were made with slightly thinner card stock and had a cheaper looking "glossy" finish.

Record: Near Mint.....lovely high gloss to both sides.... both labels are virtually flawless. The record for this very 1st release is markedly heavier than the the 2nd run [pressing]. Superb and detailed audio from start to finish that will be hard, if not impossible, to beat.
