The until-recently-defunct "Mobile Fidelity Labs" audiophile album vinyl pressings --- as well as compact discs --- were not only audiophile and connoisseur masterpieces, they have become true pieces of audio history and its lore. These majestic recordings received an intense, meticulous and laborious treatment like no other recordings in the entire history of the recorded sound. They are characterized by the massively extended dynamic and frequency range, mastering from the very first generation of original master tapes, almost compulsive attention paid to the detail and integrity of the pressing, and the highest quality of the material (for records, only the "virgin-", audiophile-grade vinyl was used, and most LP albums were pressed at RCA/Victor and/or Warner-Pioneer corporations of Japan, both known for their near-maniacal attention paid to the fine sonic detail and audio craftsmanship; for Compact Discs, only 24-karat super-reflective surface, resistant to oxidation, was used on the second generation of Mobile Fidelity issues (also known as "Ultradisc II" issued between 1991 and 1999), highest super-transparent vinyl compound was used for coating, and the MFSL proprietary method, the so-called GAIN system was employed to achieve analogue-like, warm, translucent, radiant, vivid and all-encompassing sound ). To this day, many of these recordings remain unsurpassed, delivering music reproduction as close to the actual recording session as possible, without any loss of musical information inherent in the standard practice of mastering from the inferior "production" copies.

·       CONDITION:

·       RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL  AS  NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs -  are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible,  and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The album comes with the original MFSL CERTIFICATE still intact.

(c)           The album comes with the original MFSL cardboard inner sleeve

(d)          The record is STILL in its original inner, hi-grade MFSL PVC inner sleeve, which has - apparently with success - shielded the record from the harmful impact of elements over many years!

(e)           The record is pressed on a beautiful, high-quality, virgin-grade vinyl, which is usually used for audiophile, extended-dynamic-range, half-speed mastered and connoisseur pressings.

(f)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        A faint, barely visible water stain affects the area about 1.1/2 inch wide along the bottom seam; there is no structural damage to the cover, and both cardboard base and paper slick are intact, however, the stain is faintly  visible and has caused a minor  warp in the affected area which has absolutely NO effect on the record..

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2.

-         Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine and the bottom seam

-         Cover has a light "wrinkle" (crease)  in one of the corners.

-         Cover shows some light yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the top and bottom seams (nothing significant)

-         Cover has two corners slightly worn / dinged  / bent.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No split seams

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No peel-off marks

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
