MFSL OMR Beatles Magical Mystery Tour STILL SEALED LP
Original Master Recordings produced by Mobile Fidelity Labs utilizes the half-speed mastering process in the production of superior vinyl records. In the production of most records in the past and even the present, master acetates (or master lacquer discs as they are sometimes called) are cut at 33 1/3 rpm (real time), the same speed at which you play a record album on your turntable. The master acetates for Original Master Recordings, however, are cut at half-speed (which is 16 2/3 rpm) while the master tape also plays at half speed. This allows twice as much time for the master acetate cutting system to capture every detail, every nuance of sound from the original master tape (never a second or third generation tape) as it accurately cuts the groove. The original master tapes for this album were borrowed from EMI to use in the creation of this record.
These special Original Master Recording pressings are not on ordinary vinyl which is sometimes made partly of recycled vinyl but on a pure material known as High Definition Super Vinyl which is made by Victor Company Of Japan LTD. Japanese record manufacturers have long been known for being at the very apex of quality record manufacturing standards.
This record was manufactured and distributed by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs , Inc., which is located in Chatsworth, Ca. under the license from EMI Records Limited.
The serial number for this record is MSFL 1-047.
