Description
MFSL Original Master Recording Pink Floyd MFSL 1-017, very early issue, yellow banner in block style print not italicised like later issues, all inserts match time period 1979-80.
Anyone with further information on this please email me and I will add as question to bottom of listing if bidding already started (can't edit after bidding commences)
All my later issue original master recordings have a larger Italicized block print on album header, (including another two copies of this pink floyd DSOTM.) All the close to mint copies I see on ebay tend to be of those later issues.
This cover has only the faintest signs of rubbing (see photo's taken in extremely bright outside light and no photo image adjustments, rubbing actually shows, but in real life inside light you don't notice it at all) as the un laminated black MFSL's tend to easily develop rubbing marks.
All the inserts match the time period, including the reinforced lp protector insert being blank on the inside, only printed on the outside (front Superdiscs, Supertapes, Superstars, Superquality) and back is print only, no pictures "An Audiophiles Dream come True", giving full detail on MFSL production and quality, protector sheet dated 1979. Also has printed sheet of current stock listings dated nov 1980 that finishes at stock number 1-044 (this is 1-017) (printed on reverse of brochure headed "The key Hi Fidelity component...) and a yellow warranty return sheet, if a fault is in pressing. This is the one that says all MFSL pressings start out with a few clicks which polish out with use, as MFSL do not de horn their metal masters for fear of wiping out high frequencies and transients,
Take my word for it, this black card cover is almost unmarked, in normal room light you don't see anything, I photographed it outside in bright reflected light so it ALL SHOWS, no edge wear, chips or marks, corners are still actually square and correct color! (no rubbing) There is the beginning of a small seam split in the top edge (SEE PHOTO) and bid accordingly, I didn't notice it until I got into the bright light, paper yellow banner edge isn't torn as such but has the fracture in the paper of an imminent seam split about to happen (ie record doesn't slide out the gap, but it won't take much to have it happen)
These LP's aren't too hard to get in Near mint or above status, but an early cover like that (this) is very rare indeed. LP Fully test played after washing with Knosti LP bath, then treated with LAST record cleaner and preservative.
Last is an Archive quality preservative said to protect from regular wear for up to 200 plays. Audiophiles such as yourselves are already using similar I am sure, I just saved you the time an expense of doing it.
Test play revealed no sound deterioration or signs of damage, yes there was the very occasional pop and tic as MFSL themselves tell us to expect, but overall an LP that lives up to the reputation imparted to this MFSL masterpiece. I suspect only played a couple of times, as there was only a couple of minor paper scuffs that were only visible in Sun light (and today in Australia that was bright!!! outside, hence my lengthy elaboration on ebay INSIDE!!!)
LP is also I believe an earlier pressing of this issue as wax codes are
Side 1 MFSL - 1-017-A 2-1 (also small block numbers 213) and initials SR (mastered by Stan Ricker at MFSL)
Side 2 MFSL - 1-017-B 2-1 (also small block numbers 211)
(I have one pressing that has wax code as high as B-2-4)

Remastered as only Mobile Fidelity Sound labs could have, a classic re-issue and much sought after pressing of Pink Floyd Dark Side of The Moon landmark album. first Issued in 1979,
Opportunities to get such a rare mo fi issue, especially in Australia, and in this, great overall condition, at such a low starting price are certainly Rare Indeed. When seen overseas they regularly command prices well in excess of AUD50 with a good clean cover, and then you have to mail it to Oz if you win it!!
Condition (See Photo's)
COVER- , Excellent +++ (only very minor start to rubbing on reverse cover but beginnings of a potential top seam split)NO shelf wear on bottom edge, Absolutely no ring wear, no other marks, dents, chips, tears, creases or other wear.
LP is as near mint as I am prepared to describe anything. It came to me with a couple of fingerprints on,and a little dust, so after wet washing in a Knosti record bath, a treatment of 'Last' Power Cleaner, followed by 'Last' Record Preserver (said to protect against wear damage for upto 200 plays) and test played, as above. Visually it has only a few light paper scuffs, similar to being taken out of the jacket a few times, (even if MFSL do supply an anti stat scratch free dust jacket, please note they don't call it a non SCUFF lp liner!!!
There is only a couple of very small spindle marks on both sides. It may indicate from the rest of the usual wear indicators that this album has been played very few times. Has it's original mfsl dust jacket (plain no writing on plastic), and inserts,(See supersize photo's) advertising the complete range of mfsl (then) current releases. Large fold out record protector/stiffener sheet, same size as cover, and yellow warranty sheet,

In other words, buyers asking me to understate the customs declaration on this item need not bid, as I flatly refuse under international law to do so. (Last Buyer who did that gave neg feedback (it was retracted obviously) as they thought it was my fault they had taxes to pay(?????)

DON'T EXPECT TO GET MY PERMISSION IN THE LAST 2 HOURS OF BIDDING, DO IT BEFOREHAND. Winning bids unpaid after 7 days will be reported as non paying bidder and item opened to second chance offer.
HAPPY BIDDING, QUESTIONS WELCOME
This listing in Australian dollars because I don't live in US or UK, and if you don't, WHAT A WASTE OF DOUBLE CONVERSIONS THAT WOULD BE!!! Also as the exchange rate is more like R.S. not U.S against our vibrant economy in sunny Australia
The keen starting price offers a great opportunity to own this great recording at a reasonable starting price.
