Description
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab released this title in June of 1979 and it continues to be one of the most popular and sought after numbers in their catalog. The sonics are fantastic and one of the reasons may be that pressing specialist, Stan Ricker was involved in the creation of the lacquers. His initials appear on both sides of the vinyl in the deadwax area. Some audiophiles I've spoken to prefer this version to the UHQR because it has more manageable bass levels. This title was repressed a short while later by MFSL due to its popularity and one of the distinguishing differences are the non-slanting letters("ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDING") which denote a 1st run copy as opposed to the more common slanting lettering which came afterwards. The copy I'm offering is a beautiful example of this album, with perfect audio, clear vocals and extremely natural sounding guitars. No distortion was heard anywhere....Stunning!
Condition of Lp Jacket: Excellent(minus)...some rubbing to the front and back...due to the black mat finish, this cover is easily marked and can dirty quite fast. The jacket itself is solid and sturdy, the spine near perfect...some slight corner wear is visible but not offensive...the inner gatefold is in great condition with hardly a mark to be seen. Al in all, a solid example of this iconic jacket.
Condition of Record: Near Mint....superb condition....almost like-new with amazing gloss. I counted only 5 light "ticks" during the ENTIRE playback!
