Description

From 1985, 'The Dream of The Blue Turtles',  the brilliant debut solo album by Sting.  Accompanied by an all-black jazz band, the album offers a departure from Stings's work with the Police, though not as radical a one as the makeup of his band might indicate. There are elements of reggae, jazz, and classical music....all held together with solid pop melodies.  Moreover, you'd think that someone would have remembered that Sting actually began his career playing jazz in the pubs of his native Newcastle, whiling away his days as a schoolteacher. 
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab released the definitive version of this album (MFSL 1-185) as a limited edition/numbered audiophile pressing in 1986.  I've heard many versions of this album; German, UK, and Japanese pressings, 24kt Gold CD, etc.  while all of them are fine, none of them match the Mobile Fidelity vinyl version.  Firstly, the vinyl surfaces are dead quiet. Secondly, the clarity and separation of the instruments are striking in their definition;  the audio is simply magnificent. I consider this title to be one of the most impressive in the entire MFSL vinyl catalog.
