Artist: MODERN JAZZ QUARTET
Title: “Live At the Lighthouse”
Label: Mobile Fidelity Sound Laboratories ~ MFSL 1-090.
Audiophile pressing, specially plated and pressed on High Definition Super Vinyl by VICTOR Company of Japan, Ltd.
From the original stereo master tape under license from ATLANTIC Recording Corporation. Label is white with black text.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is NEAR MINT with 100% of original gloss, as clean as can be found. Appears to have been played one or two times at most, and handled with care. Labels are clean. Fidelity is superb. A solid “10” out of ten.
JACKET: Jacket is beautiful NM- with clean and bright panels. Front panel has light ring wear. Seams and spine are excellent, light rubbing along bottom seam. You will be hard pressed to find one this nice!
Record is enclosed in original rice paper sleeve. Folded cardboard inner sleeve is included in top condition.

“This fairly obscure LP by the Modern Jazz Quartet features fresh material and improvisations that are both swinging and creative. Pianist John Lewis' "The Spiritual" and "Baseball," along with vibraphonist Milt Jackson's "Novamo" and "For Someone I Love," comprise half the program, and it is Jackson's influence that seems to be the weightier one here. Jackson and the MJQ always rose to the challenge of a crowd. There are also excellent ballad renditions of "The Shadow of Your Smile" and "What's New." The bluesier side of the band is what's mostly on display here, and the MJQ plays up to its usual level. None of the classic group's recordings should be passed by.”
