Description

MFSL 2-518 mobile fidelity sound labs / original master recording. a 2 record promotional copy set. THE BLUES... "a real summit meeting". recorded live at newport in New York. B.B. KING, Muddy Waters, Big Mama Thornton, Eddie 'Cleanhead' Vinson, Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown, Jay McShann, Lloyd Glenn, Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup. the bottom right hand corner of the jacket has the raised gold lettering stamp "demonstration copy not for resale" (you can see it in the picture). these records are graded M- in a VG++ gatefold jacket. record grading as follows: mint (M) is a perfect, unplayed, unblemished record (few, if any, records will meet this criteria). mint-(M-) is a near perfect record, no audible imperfections should be present and will have high sheen and luster, perhaps a minor cosmetic sleeve scuff, but generally not even that. VG++ is ever so slightly below M-, still should be audibly perfect, though it will display some unaudible cosmetic marks. VG+ will still have the good sheen and luster but will have minor audible sounds generally from a small scratch or a stain occuring at the time of the record pressing. VG records will display both cosmetic and audible imperfections but will play through completely from beginning to end. records that i would grade less than VG will rarely be up for auction, unless it is extremely rare and then i would describe any imperfections in detail. jackets are graded as follows: M- is in wonderful condition with no writing, no splits, no holes, no tears. VG++ is slightly below M-, with a small mark, crease, tear or smudge. VG+ is a more worn looking jacket that may also include seam splits, writing on jacket, stains, heavier scuffing, tearing or smudging. VG is a jacket that is still fully complete but shows many signs of wear, writing, staining, scuffs, tears etc. if you are interested in classical or jazz records, please check my husbands sales under the name ‘oldvinylman’. In fact, it’s because of his success selling on ebay that prompted me to auction off some of my collection. He was a quality control manager for a recprd pressing company and he does the strict grading for me. shipping and handling in the USA is $5.00 (groupings of multiple records will add only a small increase). overseas shipping and handling will be arranged with the high bidder.
