Congratulations not only gets a fancy 180gram virgin-vinyl repress, but also a fresh remaster from the original tapes for tip top sound quality. On their second album, Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden drop the catchy pop of Oracular Spectacular and opt for a much more ambitious, experimental vibe. It almost seems like since securing their major label deal on Columbia, they've really decided to let loose and let the freak flag fly. And in this case, it's totally a good thing.
