MICHAEL GARRICK - BLACK MARIGOLDS
1968 UK 1st press jazz rarity with barely played gleaming vinyl and crystal clear stereo sound quality throughout
Near mint (NM) condition vinyl - I hesitate slightly in grading as "near mint" because if you look closely under a bright light you may just be able to detect a couple of barely discernible small and faintest of faint wispy paper scuff lines...but that's it! Completely flat, weighty and retaining it's original and gorgeous jet black sheen - apart from the aforementioned barely detectable couple of paper scuff lines, perfect! And, of course, playback is flawless, so I think "near mint" is justified! Near mint (NM) condition labels : again, very close inspection under a bright light reveals just a single small and very faint spindle trail adjacent to the centre hole on each label, but no other blemish at all. Clearly this is a record that has been only very sparingly played, probably just a few times at most. Excellent plus (EX+) condition front-side-only laminated Graphis Press outer sleeve with firm unscuffed edges, including a firm spine with all spine text remaining perfectly intact. All colours, gorgeous art work and text remain in beautiful, vibrant and crystal clear definition. There is no cardboard creasing, the opening edges are firm with no fraying, each corner is a near perfect right angle with barely any rubbing at all, and there is no unwanted writing. The only "blemishes" (too strong a word) are just a couple of small and extremely mild ring wear marks on the reverse side - one towards the top edge and the other towards the bottom (even these marks are non-obvious and very minor indeed) and the occasional small (<0.5cm) non-obvious and extremely trivial laminate crinkle adjacent and perpendicular to the front-side top, bottom, and spine edges. Take a good look at my photos where I have tried to show a detailed and honest appraisal of the condition of this iconic sleeve - hard to believe that this copy is 58 years of age...it really is gorgeous! Near mint (NM) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, distortion, interference, clicks or background crackle - just perfect! Crystal clear stereo sound quality throughout with great tone, and each and every track remaining a great listen...exactly as you would expect from this assemblage of jazz greats : Michael Garrick (piano, harpsichord, celeste), Ian Carr (trumpet, fluegal horn), Joe Harriot (alto saxophone), Tony Coe (tenor saxophone), Dave Green (bass), Trevor Tomkins (drums), and Colin Barnes (drums). Comes with excellent plus (EX+) condition original poly-lined inner sleeve with no side splits or age discolouration, no edge fraying, and barely any creasing. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. A truly superb condition copy of this 1968 UK 1st press jazz rarity. Hard to believe that this copy is 58 years of age - you won't find many in better condition than this!

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
